POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Registration is only available online through CLA's Eventbrite webpage. Snail mail or registration by phone is not an option.

If the workshop you would like to register for is full at the time you try to register, please sign up for the waiting list by e-mailing assistant@clasanjose.org. A CLA staff member will notify you by email if a space opens up in the workshop. You will receive priority registration the next time a similar workshop is conducted.

You must be at least 21 years of age to register for a workshop.

Registration is via Eventbrite. Remember to refresh your browser if you are on the webpage before the registration is set to begin for each session.

You will receive an email receipt from Eventbrite when your payment has been received. You will also receive a final confirmation email from a CLA staff member once the workshop is full.

Registration is open until the workshop is filled or until class begins.

If workshop session is cancelled due to an instructor illness, the class will extend one week.

CLA reserves the right to limit the number of multi-week workshops for which participants may register per session.

CLA reserves the right to prohibit enrollment in the same multi-week workshop by immediate family members and significant others.

For online workshops, if a participant does not attend two consecutive sessions without notifying the instructor, the instructor has the right to remove that person from shared e-communications with workshop participants.

All workshops are modeled on graduate-level creative writing courses, and may include short in-class writing exercises and outside reading assignments. Participants are expected to read and write comments about each other’s written pieces. In addition to time spent on one’s own writing, the workshop may take up to two hours of work per week. Prior creative writing experience is not needed.

CLA workshops offer participants a nurturing environment conducive to developing writing skills. The success of the workshops is in part dependent on the mutual support of the participants. CLA reserves the right to refuse enrollment to any individual.

CANCELLATION POLICY
